After my great accomplishment with my first oil painting (read more HERE), I was so motivated to do the next one that I didn’t even wait for my mom to buy me the new colours I wanted. For this second painting I only used white, yellow and black. I found this nice picture of a boat docked in a harbour and I decided to paint that. I also painted it on an un-primed piece of hardboard that my dad cut for me.
Looking back at where my painting started and how much I have grown as an artist, I stand in awe at the grace of God. I had no clue then that this is the path He has prepared for me even when I was still not born. I think at that stage of my life I didn’t even give one minute of thinking what I want to become, or what career I want to pursue. I was just living in the moment.
Life was carefree. We were many kids in the street, so all of us spend a lot of time outside playing or riding our bicycles. Crime was unheard of, nobody was afraid of anything. It was a different life then. We also had cats and dogs and I spend a lot of time playing with them too.
Anyway my mom bought me new colours of oil paint, a few more brushes, a palette and a palette knife. I still use that palette knife today! My next paintings will become much more colourful!
