Although it is already past the middle of September, spring has not really sprung yet! We here in Cape Town are facing yet another weekend of heavy rains, cold winds and maybe snow on the mountains. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing and we humans are desperate to go out and have some fun in the sun, but we need to wait patiently. Time will come and this storm too shall pass.
Is it not true of everything in life? Stormy times are a part of life. Sometimes we see it coming, and we can prepare and face it head-on. Sometimes it catches us by surprise and it feels like we are drowning. What should we do? How can we survive? We lift up our eyes to the mountains, but the mountains cannot help. But then, if we lift it up even higher, and we look to the Lord, help comes quickly. His outstretched hand lifts us up and we can work through the storm and come out as victors and enjoy a new season of calm.
I am starting this blog where I will take you on a journey through my life as an artist. I will write of times past, how it all started and of people who influenced my life. I will write of milestones, turning points and major and minor events and happenings. Then I will also write about things in the present and even things to come.
